Alice E. (Bunnie) Jordan, 71, loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother and loyal friend passed quietly from this life and went to be with the Lord on December 22, 2007 at 12:30 PM after an 11-month battle with cancer. She was born on May 21, 1936 in Wright, New York to Elaine and Walter Wainwright. On December 7, 1956 she married her one love, Charles (Chick) Jordan, whom she had met while serving as a legal stenographer in the United States Air Force. After her retirement from the service, she and Chick raised seven children to whom Bunnie passionately dedicated her life: Chip Jordan of Phoenix; Bill Jordan of Campton, NH; Jim Jordan of Winter Springs, FL; Rick Jordan of New York, NY; MariElaine Amerine of Phoenix; Michael Jordan of Phoenix; Lori Gorecki of Glendale; 16 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. After raising their children on the east coast and moving to Arizona in 1985, Chick and Bunnie found a new enthusiasm for the outdoors and after Chick’s retirement became Campground Hosts until the time of her illness. This position took them to various parts of the country, forming more happy memories and making many new friends. At Bunnie’s request, there was no memorial service held. It was her wish that her husband and children have a chance to say a final, private goodbye in their home. Donations in her memory may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St. Phoenix, AZ 85014.
